From Colombia to Miami

Dr. Ernesto Cardenas is a Colombian-American physician, born in Colombia in 1978. He moved to New York at the age of 5, and later settled in South Florida where he has spent most of his life. He graduated with honors from Florida State University and Ponce School of Medicine and completed his specialty in obstetrics and gynecology in San Antonio, Texas. During medical school, he pursued his lifelong dream of serving his country by becoming an officer in the United States Army. As a military physician, he served as a department chairman and volunteered for deployment to Afghanistan as a battalion surgeon. 

Dr. Cardenas enjoys sharing experiences, information, and stories and is active on national television shows, radio programs, and social media. He understands the importance of breaking down communication barriers between patients and physicians. Dr. Cardenas believes knowledge is the key to a healthy pregnancy and an amazing postpartum recovery.

Currently, Dr. Cardenas is an active member of Bayshore Women's Healthcare where he works alongside partners he has known for over two decades. He is happily married to Dr. Leslie Cardenas and is the father of two young men, Gael and Joaquin. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, boating, and motorsports.
